The objective in the design of this instrument was to deliver laboratory-caliber capillary column chromatography in an online PGC. To meet this goal, the Wasson-ECE engineering teams combined high-performance convection ovens with electronic pressure and flow controls to overcome the limitations of traditional PGCs.

Micro-Convection Oven

Two fully-programmable micro-convection ovens (MCOs) enable the precise temperature controls required for capillary column chromatography. There are also two isothermal ovens, each with a separate temperature assignment. Eclipse column ovens can accommodate up to 8 columns (capillary or packed).

Eclipse MCO capillary column ovens deliver temperatures up to 225°C

Cool Oven

Eclipse Cool Oven capillary columns use Peltier cooling to reach -20°C

Isothermal Oven

Isothermal ovens (up to 150°C) are also utilized as needed in several configurations and locations for maximum flexibility.

Electronic Pressure Programming

Low sensitivity analysis (ppm to ppb) is achieved by combining the precision of the MCOs with electronic pressure programming and flow controls.

Eclipse EPCs tightly regulate the pressures and flows in our PGC.
