Need

Accurate gas chromatographic analysis depends on one critical factor: sample integrity. Inconsistent temperatures, pressure drops, or contamination during sampling can alter a gas’s composition before it reaches the analyzer—leading to inaccurate or non-repeatable results.

Wasson-ECE Custom Sampling Systems are designed to eliminate these issues. Each system ensures the delivery of a representative, conditioned, and temperature-controlled gas sample from the process stream to the gas chromatograph (GC). Whether for laboratory, on-line, or process environments, these systems maintain the sample’s original state to guarantee high-fidelity analytical results.

Qualification

For over 35 years, Wasson-ECE Instrumentation has specialized in integrating custom gas chromatographs with sampling systems for the energy, petrochemical, and environmental industries. Our systems are field-proven in refinery process units, natural gas pipelines, and analytical laboratories worldwide, designed to meet the most stringent accuracy and uptime requirements.

Differentiation
  1. Tailored to Every Process Application: Each sampling system is custom-engineered for the client’s process conditions—covering high-pressure natural gas, refinery process streams, petrochemical vapors, and more. Configurations include single or multi-stream capability, sample heating, and filtration stages.
  2. Seamless Integration with GC Platforms: Designed to integrate directly with Agilent or Wasson-ECE process gas chromatographs, including the Eclipse Process GC. Electrical, pneumatic, and communication interfaces are pre-configured for plug-and-play compatibility.
  3. Temperature and Pressure Stability: Heated lines, floating piston sample cylinders, and precision regulators maintain constant temperature and pressure throughout transfer—preventing condensation, adsorption, or fractionation that can compromise results.

Topline Specifications
  • Sample Stream Capacity: 1–10+ configurable sample streams
  • Maximum Inlet Pressure: Up to 3000 psi (20.7 MPa)
  • Adjustable Outlet Pressure: 0–100 psi (user controlled)
  • Temperature Control: Up to 150–200°C (transfer lines, valves, regulators)
  • Heating Zones: Independently controlled, Watlow or equivalent controllers
  • Materials of Construction: 316L stainless steel, PTFE, fused silica-lined pathways
  • Sample Modes: Continuous flow, grab sample, or automated stream switching
  • Control Interfaces: Manual, digital, or GC-controlled (BCD/event interface)
